laughter and frustration.

This morning i woke to our dog growling in my face. When i opened my eyes i saw Bennett on top of the dog "riding it" like a horse!!!! He said "mommy, look Zeal is my horse." Oh my.....this boy had me laughing in the midst of strong reprimand. SO GLAD OUR BLACK LAB DIDNT BITE HIM....

Yesterday Bennett found a maxi pad from our bathroom and laid his little fire guy on it and said it was the fire-guys comfy bed. My privacy is non-existant these days..

Bennett is potty trained or at least accident free for weeks. I'm so proud of him. So it surprised us when we came in his room and it smelled like poooooo. Yuck-o. We realized that when we tell him to stay in bed and not get out...he knows we mean it. Poor little guy. of course we told him he can get out if he needs to go to the bathroom from now on.

The house is a total mess....i can barely get a thing done and its frustrating...but the storms are rolling in and our house is getting quiet...Bennett was sweet when we put him to bed.....his p.j.'s smelled like fresh laundry and his hair clean with shampoo. It made me feel like i accomplished at least something today....Kevin is working in the garage and i know that makes him happy. i am about to watch the show Brother's and Sisters and hear our friend Matthew Perryman Jones song play on it.... and for an hour things feel right....

such a sweet picture of Bennett. i always love your anecdotes, and always take note of how similar they are to mine. your posts always makes me feel a little bit less lonely in my own messy house (especially when weather reports interrupt the show we wanted to watch). :) love you!

B is growing up so fast! I understand about the mess. Mine is only clean because of bouts of insomnia where I wash laundry and because Matt cleaned it this morning and I could just hug his face for it! Praise God for the laughter in these moments!
