Poverty stimulates creativity i always say.....and what i am about to admit may disgust some of you guys...and yet it must be something you already know about me. My house is such a hodge podge of gatherings.
I love thrift stores...except the smelly, dirty nature of it all. I wash items well when home. i LOVE getting a bargain. I LOVE LOVE going through Anthropologie to get lots of ideas and then going to thrift stores to copy best i can. I will show you my creations soon. Today i got vintage curtains to hang in our family room....that i will sew and create, They are gorgeous....each will be about $ 4 bucks. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? They are the length we need too.....our tall ceilings are a challenge sometimes. At Anthropologie i saw curtains like that for $180 a panel!!!
I got some stylish cowboy boots that mimic $80 ones i was about to buy the other day...total $6....
I got a BUNCH of Dr. Seuss books for $1 each ...( i am in love with his children's books..they make me smile and imagine creative things as i read them to Bennett). I was seriously about to use some of Bennett's b-day money to get him some..each hard back book would be about $12 each.
i got Bennett suspenders there a while ago. (Sharon...what is your address? i have some for Abraham). Above are some PRICELESS pictures of Bennett in the suspenders that my talented friend Vanessa captured yesterday. i love these pics so much i want to cry. THANKS VANESSA....

Love it! Me too -- LOVE finding treasures. I have grand ideas of buying a side chair at Goodwill and reupholstering it with some awesome fabric, but I'm intimidated by that unknown process. :)

Ok, I am going to go shopping with you next weekend so you can introduce me to all these thrift shops you always speak of. I love how you decorate your house. It feels so warm & cozy...you put thought into everything you put up & it shows. I love your style!
Oh no, no disgust here! I'm a firm believer in old stuff repurposed for my house. I'm not as creative as you are, though. Your house looks amazing! I can't wait to see your new finds (as curtains!)
