Life Lessons learned during Potty Training.

1.  Keep moving forward... onward Soldier

An evil virus has visited our household. It came on Tuesday to Amos, he passed it to Bennett who then passed it to me.  We have all run a fever for 4 days. Thus making it the LONGEST 2 WEEKS of potty training EVAR!!!... but onward solder!!! There will be no retreat to the hills or the diapers.

My virus came with happy side effect of laryngitus. Now Amos hears me ask him if he needs to use the potty through a paper towel holder to amplify my voice.  When toddlers rely on your voice to save their life, you gotta do what you gotta do to be heard:  "DONT CROSS THE ROAD". "Dont hit your brother"....."don't poop your pants"

2. Life is hard: wear underwear

When i forget this important undergarment ( esp. on him) life can get messier than it needs to be.

3. Risks need to be taken in order to move forward....

Today at the post office, i endured a long line with two toddlers ( enough said) only to get up to the front of the line to hear Amos whisper..."mama, i need to pee".  So i rush out of the line and take him to the nearest bush outside the post office. Don't judge me people! i am DONE WITH DIAPERS and risks have to be taken......

4. When hard times are over:  CELEBRATE!

Amos has been potty training for 2 weeks.  It took him a week to hear the words "potty train" and realize i was not taking him on a literal TRAIN ride.  He is slowly and surely getting the hang of it. When i say "hang"....I mean lots of saggy drawers HANGing full of poo poo have had to be endured ( and cleaned) for him to learn. Maybe when the hard times are over we need to celebrate together and ride a REAL train.

I wrote this poem
Each of us are Special
Each of us different,
No one is the same
Each of are us are unique in our own way,
Those of us who have challenges, we smile through our day.
It doesen't matter what other's say
we are special anyway.
