More valuable than Birds

I love birds and bird cages and eggs and nests. There is a little nest outside our porch where 5 new birds have hatched from their baby blue shells. They wait all snuggle together for mama to deliver food. She comes ALL DAY tirelessly...feeding..remembering...working. It reminds me of the season im in......somedays i feel like all i do it take care of my little bird. I LOVE it...dont get me wrong...but some days are hard. Like today, where i could go sing background with a group of people on a song my own hubby wrote, and then go bowling afterwards, But instead will stay with my little one because I cant get a babysitter. ( can you feel the bitterness seeping throuhg the words?.ha ha) Part of me dies to myself every day. Which is sometimes a joy and sometimes very hard.

I always remember that Bennett is more valuable than birds in God's eyes......today i want to remember that i am too...and all my family and friends. So many of my friends are hurting lately. Ruthie lost her father yesterday...in a freak accident, Forester has a tumor, Katherines winning years of battle over cancer, baby Catherine is getting stronger..but still fighting, Mama is having trouble walking....handling Multiple Sclerosis with courage and beauty, Westin the teenage champion wrestler will wrestle with cancer the next three years....Slumdog Millionare was a great movie but broke my heart seeing how some children live in India..I want to adopt those little Indian baby birds and take care of them...( Caroline i can see why you left mid-movie)......LIFE IS FREAKIN HARD.
sorry to be Debbie Downer....(im not depressed Sharon...thanks for checking on me though)

Inside the bird cage are letters of the names of people i want to remember daily....i want GOD to set them free from cages.....and tell them that they are "MUCH MORE VALUABLE THAN BIRDS" luke 12:22.....
anyway...

remembering today..that each of us are MUCH, He says MUCH more valuable than birds....whose mama is taking care of them all day long.

Mandy,

Thanks for these words today. I needed to hear them. And, if you are ever in need of an emergency sitter, please call. There's a really good chance I'm already stuck at home. :)

Hi Mandy!
I was so blessed to get to spend some time with you last weekend! And to hear you sing again was the biggest blessing of all. You are amazing. I don't even know how I arrived at your blog this morning but I am so glad that I did. I am crying by the way. Thanks! I was wondering if there is room in your bird cage for another name. His name is Patrick and he is my son. He needs so badly to know Jesus because only HE can heal him from self destructing. Patrick is struggling so much and the drugs have taken control of his life and his will to live. Will you go hug your little bird for me? And pray for mine?
Love you lots!
Jeanne

Jeanne,
not sure if you will read this...but i will surely add Patricks name to the bird cage....praying GOD sets him free from the hold of drugs..reminding him he's too valuable to do that anymore and giving him strength to kick this addiction in the a-- and leave it forever. thanks for sharing....i will pray for you too...
